The Flow

Time for a little psychology! In this article I will be teaching you about "Flow", what it is, how to obtain it, and maintain it aswell. Flow can be applied to any thing you'll ever do in life, including psychic and energy work. The way I see it, flow is all about mind, and so is psychic and energy work, so the benefits of flow are a nessecity to those looking to further themselfs psionicaly.

What is Flow?

Flow is a state of mind achieved when you are without distraction, unease, and are 100% focused on the task at hand. I'm sure you've heard the saying "In the flow", reffuring to the person doing abnormaly better then their average skill. Flow is often held back due to your environment, resitcting people around you making your nervous, or humid or dirty air, loud migraine inducing noise, or thousands of other miner distractions that keep you from acheiving your flow.

Flow and Psionics

As I have previously stated, flow is all about your mind, just as is psionics. Primarialy harder tasks such as macro-psychokinesis, and any other more specfic items, would be most affected by flow. Most report that they only achieved psychokinesis, or phasing for that matter, when they whear experiancing almost zero mental activity. If you whear in your flow, you would be able to maximize your talent for such tasks.
Unfourtunatly, flow would only be achievable once you've started your task, it would not help you when your still trying to learn. But once you have gotten the basics of anything down, you have the potential to greatly speed up your rate of improvement.

How do I Obtain Flow?

Flow is no easy thing to achieve, learning to achieve it will likely take you as long as it did learning the basics of your tasks to begin with. Once you can control your attention and your mental function, an ability called metacognition, you have the potential to have super human thinking.
Practicing self hypnosis is one method of controling your mind. By telling your subconscious what you need it to do, your controling your mind already. Relax your body, focus on your breathe, mental repeat to yourself what you want your mind to do. "Focus focus focus focus..." after about 10 or 20 seconds, you stop and begin to focus. If your performing PK, feel the object moving at your whim, at the perfect speed, perfect timing, nothing else in the world except the wonderous feeling of acheivement and focus...
It is extremely nessecary that you learn the basics of whatever your doing. Not only is it essential to acheive flow, but it is already essential to be great at what your doing anyway. It's cliche` that everyone stresses the importance of the basics, but it is cliche` for a reason.

Tips for Obtaining Flow

Music that most suits your task. Studies have shown that the brain will try to match it's waves to the beat of the music. Besides that, why would'nt you want another excuse to listen to your music. Something with a good steady beat is best. Trance and acid jazz are known for their beat, especialy acid jazz as it is defined by it's repeatetive beats.
The right diet is important, look for foods high in dopamine, acetylcholine, GABA, and serotonin. Each of those are vital for highened neuralogical activity. Dopamine helps improve your attention and motivation, acetylcholine boosts memory and sense imput, GABA helps neurotransmitters and regulates anxiety levels, serotonin is good for regulating mood and stress.
Most important is your willingness and drive. Flow is about feeling good in a state of acheivement and doing good at that. Most work places do not promote this and are restricting in mental activity, with is counter productive. In psychic and energy work, we tend to beat ourselfs up over failure, this can be good for disipline, but their is no need to stress over it, we need to keep trying and move on.

Conclusion

Flow is the state of mind whear you are working at your 100% productivity and is vastly usefull. In psionics, it can give you the edge in performance more so the anything else. Obtaining flow is a skill in itself, and that means it takes time to learn and control. Your environment, diet, and most of all your self are all important factors in attaining flow. End.

    Other than working with your subconcious mind, does it have something to do with the 3 brain states? as well as those binaural beats?
